Common questions
The things people ask us most often, answered straight.
How many lessons will I need?
There is no fixed number, and anyone who quotes you one before meeting you is guessing. It depends on how often you practise, whether someone can take you out between lessons, and how you take to it. Your instructor will tell you honestly where you are after a few lessons rather than selling you a package up front.
Do I need a provisional licence before my first lesson?
Yes. You can apply from 15 years and 9 months old, but it is only valid for driving from your 17th birthday. Apply on GOV.UK before you book.
Manual or automatic?
A manual licence lets you drive both. An automatic licence only covers automatics, but many people pass sooner in one because there is less to think about. We teach both.
Can I use your car for my test?
Yes. If you have not had lessons with us before, we will ask you to take a two hour assessment lesson first, so we know you are ready and you are used to the car.
I am a nervous driver. Is that a problem?
No, and it is more common than you think. Tell Mo when you book and he will start somewhere quiet and go at your pace. Several of the reviews on this site are from people who began nervous — one after a bad experience with a previous instructor.
Do you pick up from home?
Yes, free, from home, work or college anywhere we cover.
Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp — we would rather answer than have you guess.
